So you wanna see some history, huh?

dave:
Before you look into the latest flash in the pan way to monitor your alarm, or the latest way it can notify you, as well as turn on lights XYZ and call your cell phone, I suggest you take a look here, as you will see how far things have come, as well as from both ends, consumer and CO.

(the board has a filter on it)

Also, I see a lot of this stuff regularly still in use, as well as pulling and replacing (still in working order) so it's not like a lot of this stuff is no longer relevant. :)

Thats pretty neat Dave.

Ive seen a quite a bit of that stuff around too.  I still see tons of those keypads with and without the armed and ready LED's.  I still see a ton of buildings with window foil too and have to laugh.  Also the ancient style keyswitches are around too.  The old style Ademco grey Door cords and the list goes on.

Old EW tech:

Well I hope ya see that stuff !  I’m installin’ it.  I suppose you got something better?  ???

dave:
I can remember doing foil up until a few years ago...not fun!

I'm talking about the large 'motions' and microwave units, as well as the 'controls' like the ADT Mccullough loop (day/night dial meter) units.

I also pulled out a few of those 'tabletop' huge 60's vintage stuff recently.

I've been giving EW a hard time since I just pulled out an old 'tabletop' alarm with motions, keyswitch and everything. It's in a nice walnut housing and looks like an old radio, tubes and all. Installed 4/53! (still works!)

Old EW tech:

Come on guys!  I was installed at least a decade before that and I still work … a little. ;D
