ADT/DSC SCW9047-433
« on: September 15, 2012, 08:06:55 PM »
Hello everyone,
This is my first post and I hope this the right subform for this type of question. Here's my situation-
I have a 2-year contract with ADT security that expired a couple months ago. I disconnected their monitoring service, so my system is no longer being monitored by ADT. The system is a self containing SCW4047-433. I also disconnected my landline phone (we only use cellphones). My setup included a regular landline (disconnected) and also a GSM model GS3060 (just in case the landline was cut, I would still have a backup wireless connection). The past couple of months were fine, but tonight the system starts beeping every 10 seconds. I turned off the buzzer by pressing the # key. Now, the yellow triangle light is on the panel and the GSM module top triangle is flashing red. I tried to troubleshoot, and I received a 'failure to communicate' message.
How can I disconnect the communication for the GSM and wireless line so that there won't be an error anymore?
I have the installer's code and manuals, but I can't find the right place to disconnect both of them.
Thank you very much, and any help would be greatfully appreciated!

Press *2 and see what shows up on your display. If the panel displays 3        ( telephone line trouble) or 4 ( communications failure ) you will need to make a programming change to remove the line monitoring and monitoring from the programming. To do this you will need the service code which ADT will be reluctant to give out or change for you. I have never worked with this DSC panel but most DSC panels can be restored to factory default and reprogrammed. This may or may not involve re learning all wireless devices. The hard wire DSC panels that I am familiar with store wireless programming in the 5132 receiver and won't lose wireless programming if you don't default the receiver but I'm not sure if you default your panel.
Your best bet is pay a service charge for ADT to re program your panel to eliminate monitoring and give you a new service code for future use.

I have found a site that has the install manual for your panel.

Thanks for the answer
*2 gives me 4 failure to communicate
And yes I do have installer's code
The system is all wireless
I don't want to restore to factory defaults, that is the point
All I need is the correct menu code to just TURN OFF all outside communications.

Download and read the install manual. You should find the info needed to turn off communications in the manual.

I do not have your manual in my hand right now so verify the programing locations I give.

I am looking at a scw9057-433
in location 380 first communicator options option 1 communications enabled (turn off) by pressing 1 and the 1 on the keypad screen should go away. press it again the 1 reappears.
If 1 is visable comm is on. comm is off is 1 is not displayed.

TLM (Telephone line Monitor) is option 7 of program location 015

that should do it.

Thanks guys
Section 380 option 1 that what I did and turn communication OFF
When I exited the light didn't clear off and yellow triangle was there
It took sime time after the procedure for light to go away
Now it is all good
It took me 10 phonecalls to ADT to fix it or give me the installer's code with zero results. Their answer was no installer's code and pay tech to go out and clear it for you

Yes it does take a few min for the change to kick in.

I should have warned you of that.
