MA854 & Napco PRO-410m

(1/1)

locklobster:
I recently purchased an office space that has a Magnum Alert 854 system preinstalled. The previous owner told me that it had been disconnected for a year since the user codes were no longer remembered (the reason being that the office space had, by then, been considered ready to be sold so the alarm would not be needed). I do not want to start a contract with any security company, just to leave the system as is.

I turned it on and everything functions as it should (the zones show when the wired door and windows are open or closed and the motion detectors work great). All of that being said, I wish to access the codes that had been installed (user, fallback, ambush, programmer, and, if possible, dealer). I have acquired for this task a PRO-410m programmer. After having read the manual for the programmer back and forth, the many documents for the MA854, trying many default codes, and searching for answers on this forum (and others), I have decided to seek an answer here (this forum has a very nice group of smart folks). My goal is to use this system as my own.

So, can anyone help guide me in accessing the codes that have been burned on the prom? Or, to rephrase the question, is there anyone who knows of instructions for using the PRO-410m for code retrieval and is willing to help me out? Thank you all so very much.

If you have the manual that came with the 410 Programmer it will tell you how to get into the programming field you want, the dealer code field for that panel is 238-243, the fallback code is field 244-247

Thank you so much! It worked perfectly! I was apprehensive at first, but I just had to try. Thank you for giving me the confidence to mess around with the system. I now have a stat-of-the-art (well, actually, 80's tech) alarm system for free! You really know your stuff.
