Powermax Pro - Entry/Exit beeps on Arming Away stopped
(1/1)
storm:
We have had the Powermax Pro for over a year.
When you Arm Away the voice system says "Arming away - Please Exit", the countdown beeps (from the internal piezo) should then sound, they have suddenly become so faint that you can hardly hear them.
No changes to the panel were made
I have checked that the Piezo beeps are enabled
Volume on panel seems only to be for voice
Key fob used to set the alarm
You need the beeps to warn you when you enter/exit, I was wondering if there was a command I had not spotted or the internal piezo had become faulty.
Thanks in advance

Sounds like a hardware problem.
storm:
By that do you mean the piezo buzzer itself, if so is it an easy thing to replace (and get hold off) as the control panel functions fine otherwise?
twisted:
Yes. har-har
It sounds like either the piezo itself failed, or the semiconductor switch (MOSFET?) that drives the piezo; I'm guessing the latter. If the piezo then probably easy to replace, match the specs. If the semiconductor, then dunno how easy, match the specs. It might be a PCB relay instead but I'm guessing there is none, and anyway the relay would not fail as you describe.
"Easy" assumes that you can solder the board with some finesse. I sure can't - tend to cook boards.
