Will a better DVR make the image quality better?
(1/1)
sababa:
Hi,
I have a basic 8 channel Q-see DVR and some good lorex and revo cameras but the image quality (resolution) is not great, especially at night. My question is if it has to do with the DVR or just with the cams. If i change the DVR to a better/more expensive one, would it increase the quality?
Thanks! much love
Sara
Tube Tech:
the first major limitatation is the lens. if you have a 1/2" diameter cast acrylic lens you can't expect a quality image.
next limitation is the CCD sensor. I don't expect much out of a sensor less than 1/2"
play the output of a DVD through the DVR to see what the DVR does to an image of known quality

To some extent DVR do that job, but the image quality you want to receive is really depend upon the quality of the lens and features of you camera.
