Driveway monitors, exterior motion sensors

I would like to find a decent exterior motion detection system. I like the MURS alert system but i think it may be designed for a more rural setting with very little activity. I don't need long range motion detection just around the perimeter of my home. Are the optex systems any good. I need to differentiate between the different zones so i can tell where the motion is being activated. Thanks in advance for any help.

The Reporter series "w/Voice" (bought by Chamberlain?) was a go to product at one time; yet I could find only the mottion sensor to purchase recently here: http://www.homesecuritystore.com/ezStore123/DTProductList.asp (left column; 2nd item down).

I wish that I could find more people out there who have used or could work on these; as I have a few sensors not working and believe that the problems can be fixed.

Though I'm not a moderator, when the sponsor moved this forum from their webserver to here, they said we were pretty much free to do what we wanted, within matters of good taste presumably. I and others often link to wherever needed/desired products are found, no repercussions to so far.

I would say that the above is an excellent reflection on them; as many forums have driven folks away that have stayed within the taste and reason that you mention. That kind of freedom is what community should be about.
Back on topic...I wish that I could hear from others with the Reporter w/Voice system...it wasn't a bad product overall.

I have a standalone Optex system on my drive and it seems to work fine. Requires a new battery every year or so as it's wireless, but other than that it does what it's supposed to do. The sensor is adjustable, so you can change the detection area within certain limits.
