Lets start a beginners tool list sticky...

Techguy22:
So far my toolbag consists of the following...

10 In 1 screw driver
electrical tape
wire stirippers
sheet rock saw
razor blade
staple gun for wiring
wire nuts
wire solder
maglight
level
multi-meter
sheetrock ancors and screws
mini nailpuller/prybar (for Moldings)
3/8s spade bit
3/8s drill bit...

Anything else an entry level installer would need for his own?

Next on my list is a tape-measure, 3/8s 17" bit, Im sure ill need other stuff too...

KSSPA:
Bandaids ;D

xian:
Uni-Bit (Torpedo Bit, Step-Bit, whatever the current name is)...big enough to slap in a 3/4" fitting.

B-connectors.  I try to avoid wire nuts as much as possible...at least with stranded wire.

#6 and #8 Anchors/Screw.  #6 for most devices/keypads.  #8s for heavier stuff.

And some quality anchors to screw them into. Simple wall plugs are good for KPs/PIRs, but EZ Anchors for panels.

EZ Anchors are great. I use em for smokes, panels, keypads, and all sorts of other applications.

I like to use coathangers to get wires out of walls... I don't even bother spending money on a tool that Ill probably never need. Keyhole saw for j boxes.. yes, but a specialty hook for pulling wires out? Coathangers are cheaper, and I find they are more effective.

In my toolkit, I have:
- Nice Snap-on "stubby" screwdriver.
- Anti cam out Phillips bits, a bunch of flatheads, some allen tips, some Torx, and a bunch of other more unusual tips.
- All in one crimper, stripper, etc.
- Electrical tape
- Black and Decker 12 volt drill (along with bits for it of course)
- What must be a 3 foot by 3/8" twist bit for wire holes
- A solid hammer
- Studfinder
- Other various tools and handy things, one of which is a voltage sensing screwdriver.
